Pursuant to Louisiana Law, no person is required to remain a co-owner with another in business or in property ownership. Therefore, there are codal and statutory procedures in place where a co-owner can force the dissolution of a business or the sale of a property if equitable “in kind” distribution or apportionment is an impossibility. When business partners or property owners are in agreement, I can serve as a mediator to effectively and efficiently complete the sometimes complicated process of ending the business or property ownership arrangement.

While an amicable division is always recommended as it is always the less expensive option, I can also help clients with difficult, litigious “break-ups” with business partners or property co-owners by way of the legal process known as “Partition.”
